Nottingham has been recognised for its safety and has a Purple Flag City Centre. We run educational campaigns for students each year to reinforce key messages about taking simple steps to keep safe.
Although we have a large student population in Nottingham, university students make up only about 12.5% of Nottingham's total population, and in outlying areas it's even less. Living off campus in a mixed community brings about certain roles and responsibilities that are very different to living in halls of residence.
Nottingham is a brilliant place to live, work and study and we want you to make the most of your time whilst you’re in this great city. We’ve developed the following information, advice and guidance to help support you during your time living in the local community. Please also take a look at our campaigns page to see our projects that support living off campus.
Many students move off-campus during their time at university. Here, you will find everything you need to know to help and support you as a member of your local community. We've got plenty of advice and guidance on what it takes to be a good neighbour and how to get involved in community life. You'll also find information about crime prevention and staying safe as well as helpful hints on house-hunting.
To keep up to date with what is going on off-campus, follow us on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
